All About Enrique Peña Nieto

Enrique Peña Nieto, a top contender for the coming Mexican polls, is known for more than his politics, due to his impressive countenance. It is safe to say that prevailing opinion holds him the top contender among the candidates. This has led to a great deal of worrying from his competitors in the presidential race.

For all that the official campaign season has not been opened, the man's popularity is already on an upward road. One of his specialtiies is the art of public speaking, which obviously helps his cause. His charisma is such that people are naturally drawn to him, and not only for his looks.

Televisa is often named as a conspirator in Nieto's seemingly unassailable popularity. He reportedly paid the mass media giant large sums of money over the last five years to advertise the accomplishments of his previous administration in the state of Mexico. The television company allegedly depicts a positive political and presidential image for Peña Nieto.

Notably enough, these claims came out after Nieto and Angelica Rivera confessed to their relationship. Rivera is one of the most famous actresses from the network, a major star. He was married to Rivera three years after the death of his first wife, Monica Pretelini.

Pretelini was able to give Nieto three children prior to her passing. It was while Nieto was functioning as a governor for the state of Mexico that his first wife died. The result of Pretelini's passing was a renewed interest in the handsome Nieto as people wondered who would be his next wife.

His popularity among women is just part of Enrique Peña Nieto's emotional appeal to the public. Part of his previous gubernatorial campaign was traveling to different parts of the state, asking constituents what public works they need, and pledging to deliver these promises or commitments or what he calls “compromisos”. It is in relation to this that his concern for infrastructure has been noted.

Many of the public work projects from the politician, upon completion, became press field days as Nieto did his best to promote his accomplishments, like any good politician. Peña Nieto has successfully created an image of a man who gets things done, and one who works at keeping his promises to his people. Nonetheless, some claim that Nieto has spent more on organizing the social events promoting his achievements than on keeping the promises themselves.

His critics managed to get other fodder for their remarks about him when he made a few gaffes at the Guadalajara Book Fair. In the fair, the politician could not produce certain pertinent details about his alleged favorite books. He said then that he always found it hard to remember titles and authors, being more concerned with the text itself.

Unfortunately, quite a number of persons ridiculed him for it. It was made worse when one of his offspring, understandably upset about others' ridicule of her father, ended up saying something less than diplomatic about her father's opponents. The incident remains, even now, one of the less than wonderful points in Nieto's record, for all that he acknowledges it himself.

Enrique Peña Nieto asserts that his words are often taken out of context by his detractors. That aside, he remains the people's favorite for the elections. Surveys and polls are indicating that he may well be the next Mexican president.
